On 31 July, Mr Xie Chunlin, Chairman of CMES, had a meeting in Singapore with the heads from PetroChina International (Singapore) Pte Ltd., Hengli Oilchem International Pte Ltd., and China Aviation Oil (Singapore) Corp. Ltd. to conduct business exchanges.

Mr Xie described the business development and principles of China Merchants Group’s shipping business and focused on the integration of the CMES Singapore, its functional orientation and future development schemes. He mentioned that CMES Singapore is a new window and platform for CMES to coordinate its on-site management in Southeast Asia. He expressed gratitude to the three companies for their long-term support and hoped to continually strengthen exchanges and enhance cooperation in the future.

According to Mr Xia Hongwei, General Manager of PetroChina International (Singapore) Pte Ltd., PetroChina owns assets throughout the entire petroleum industry chain in the Asia-Pacific region. The collaboration with CMES could bring complementarity between the industrial chain and the supply chain, and offer joint benefits in giving a greater voice to China’s petroleum business in the international oil market.

According to Mr Li Maozhen, General Manager of Hengli Oilchem Pte Ltd., it was the first time for the company to rent a VLCC from AMCL, which is under CMES. It is expected that the collaboration in aspects like domestic and foreign trade charters of crude oil and refined oil would be expanded in the future.

Mr Wang Yanjun, CEO of China Aviation Oil (Singapore) Corp. Ltd., said that they had a long history of cooperation. As CMES is the largest oil transportation operator of China Aviation Oil, it provides strong support to the domestic aviation fuel supply.
